Happy 5th Birthday - Aiden

Aiden turns big five today. He is so excited since he has been counting down to his birthday. He says "I am a big boy" now. He picked up Mia's toy mess before we even asked him to and was very proud of himself. He had a party at daycare yesterday and said he got to stand on top of he chair and everybody sang the happy b-day song. Today Daddy took him to see new Lego movie and he got a transformer afterwards. Then we all headed to Chuck Cheese and both kids had blast playing the games and the ride. At the end Aiden redeemed the tickets and told us he got 94 tickets and each kid got a whistle after exchange the tickets. After he got home, he received a marble run from  Mommy and Daddy. And both kids got cool ice cream treats made like a cake. Yum!

Play in the Park FINALLY

After hibernating inside almost 3 months due to the HARSH winter, we finally had a fairly warm day (45 F) on Sunday. We couldn't wait to go to park. Kids had so much fun running on the playground.

Time to Clean Up

Weekend is time for cleaning house. Mom now has two little helpers that can help with loading dishes, putting clean dishes away plus rug vacuum. Mia really likes vacuum job and did decent job for the first time with real vacuum. Aiden also helped with vacuum and he thought it was fun to chase Mia wih vacuum.

Lego Brick Show

After soccer we came to state fairground for the Lego brick show. Some of the Legos are really incredible. Aiden's favourite are trains and one automated production lines. He watched it for a LONG time. Mia also liked to used the little pieces to build her tiny house. After we got home, Aiden played his Lego for another couple of hours and made a big ship and helicopter.

Enjoying Swimming Class

Seven weeks swimming classes seem to go pretty fast. We only had two more classes left but we register another session as Aiden seems to be really enjoying the class. He is still not too sure to put his whole head under water, but he is pretty much doing anything Paula (his instructor) asks him to do.
Waiting for his turn
Ready to go

Newly Printed 100 American Dollar Bill

Aiden's school was closed on Monday for the observation of President's day. Mommy took him to children's museum. To celebrate president's day, kids can get their pictures taken and printed on 100 dollar bill. Now we have a newly printed 100 dollar bill in Aiden's face.

Daycare Friend's B-day Party

This will be the last year that Aiden gets to go to his friends' b-day party from daycare. They will start kindergarten this fall and they will go to different elementary schools due to school districts. This party was held in an indoor playground. It has quite a few big different playlets, trampolines, play houses, numerous train tables and small basketball fields. Aiden had so much fun playing with his friends on playlets and basketballs. And of course he enjoyed chocolate cupcake and ice cream. Yum!!

Happy Happy Valentines Day!

This valentines day Aiden needed to prepare 28 valentines cards and sign his name on each one. He had great time doing that and putting stickers on each card too. He also brought home many valentines from school. Both kids also got quite a few gifts from us and Grandparents Zeiglet. Mia got an elephant with red ear from Aiden and candies, book and pink monkey from Grandpa and Grandma Zeiglet. Aiden got a singing hamster from Mia and candies, hot wheels, and monkey from grandparents. Kids had fun opening gifts and of course got sugar high. It is like another sweet "Christmas".

Mia Went Potty!!

About a month ago, we took the training potty out so that we can get her sit on potty seat first and she had no problem with sitting on it. With Aiden the first try wasn't too happy for him as he was quite scared of potty seat. She didn't pee in the potty. Last night before bath, Daddy took the potty seat out again and asked her to sit on it, she did, but no pee. Then after bath, Daddy asked her again and she sat down and PEED in the training potty. Tonight Daddy asked her again before bath and it was easy, she sat on it and peed right away. After two nights in a row, she seems to get an idea that she needs to pee when she sits on that seat.  It is a good start!!!

Aiden's First Swimming Class

Mommy's friend recommended YMCA private swimming class. We found one close to home and did our first class on Sunday morning. Aiden as VERY sceptical at the beginning and wouldn't even go inside the swimming pool building. But Dad managed to get him in and sat down on the side to watch others swim. When coach Paula was ready for him, he didn't want to go with her. But she was very good with kids and only took her about one minute or two to get him into water. On he was in, he really enjoyed it. He did everything she asked him to do such as swim on his back, paddle his arms and legs, move along the pool with his hands on the edge, get his face dipped into water, jump into water. He was quite proud of himself and told waitress he took swimming lesson when we went out to eat after class. We think he is ready to go back next Sunday.

Little "Chef" Mia

We went to steak and shake for Saturday lunch. Mia loved the paper chef hat that comes with kids meal. She was wearing the whole time at restaurant and looked very cute.
