Back to Daycare as Fulltime
Grandparents Li have just left for China this morning. Aiden will start his full time daycare again from today. He has been off since last Wednesday and I was a little concerned that he might cry during drop-off. But surprisingly he went into his room on his own even though slowly. He did show some "not sure" face but at least he gave me a hug before I left and went to play. A big boy now! :))

Sunday Morning Exercise
Like most of the toddler boys, Aiden has a lot of energy and loves to move around all the time. He started practicing jumping around 20 months old and was able to get both feet off ground a little bit around 22 months old. Now he can jump about a couple of inches off ground and do consecutive jumps. He loves to spin around too which I think he got it from Tow Mater from Cars movie. One time he spinned 15 times without falling.

Nice Day in Zoo
It was in mid 50s for high today and it was SUNNY! We decided to go to zoo and it has been almost half year since Aiden's last visit (cold winter). Aiden loved to touch the shark. He also watched the dolphin show and he had very serious expression and only laughed while he saw dolphin splashed water. His most favorite thing is of course train ride and he cried so sadly after we had to get off. He also liked the outdoor garden section since he found it was very interesting to stack the rock chips.

New Exhibition at Children Museum
Aiden went to children museum the day after his b-day party to check out some exhibitions. A huge bumble bee transformer on the entrance was part of the new exhibition, he really wanted to see it but he was a little scared to go near it since it is soooo big. He did enjoy the Dora and Diego section. He planted flowers and water them in this new section.

Birthday Cake
I made double layer car theme cake for Aiden's 2nd b-day. The bottom layer was chocolate and top layer was yellow cake. I put butter cream between layers and coated the whole cake with butter cream. For decoration, I added black color in the butter cream to make the road and dotted the line with butter cream. I mixed green color in the butter cream and used grass tip to made the grass. I printed out "Happy Birthday Aiden" sign edited by microsoft office and checker flag and car characters from the internet, glue them on the toothpick for decoration. Then I put lightning McQueen and King on the road to complete the decoration. I didn't level the cake, but it turned out pretty good since it looked like a slope for the road per Kim. The finished cake looked pretty good and it was quite delicious. I got quite a bit compliments on the cake, but credit has to go to Matt as well since he helped smoothing the cream and making the road. Kids loved it.

Birthday Day gifts
Aiden got a lot of gifts from us, both grandparents and Uncle Jason's family. He showed a lot more interest in ripping off the wrapping paper to see what is inside compared to his 1st b-day and last Christmas. Cousin Audrey and Grant were pretty good helpers with opening the gifts. Aiden got Lightning McQueen, Mater, Doc, King, Hick Chick, Frank, Mack, Ramone, Greater Mater with jumping ramp, a boat for bath, magnetic letters, foam magnetics with 60 different objects and a hot wheel suitcase from Mom and Dad. He got a razor from Grandparents Zeigler, many animal figures (lion, dinosaur, turtle, horse etc), tonka trucks and some clothes and socks from Grandparents Li and a very nice football tent from Uncle Jason, Aunt Kim and Cousin Grant and Audrey. His most favoriate was the cars characters and he kept digging in the bag to see if there were more. He had to check the package to make sure it is empty when Daddy tried to throw them out! He also loves the tent. It did take him a while to get in the tent but once Audrey went in, he followed her in and had a lot of fun with her in the tent! He also liked dinosaurs and elephant. His least favoroiate was clothes and socks of course (typical boys). When he pulled the socks out of the gift bag, he didn't even bother to look for more stuff in that bag! It was pretty good day for Aiden. In addition to the gifts, he had so much fun playing with Audrey and Grant!

Balloon Fun
We took Aiden to Red Robin for his b-day. After a big lunch, Aiden got a red robin balloon and had a lot of fun playing the balloon and he was even holding the balloon during bath that night. Then on Saturday we also got a couple of balloons for the b-day party (truck and smiley face). He loves the truck balloon!

Almost TWO??
Time flies and my little Aiden is turning 2 in 3 days!! Where has the time gone?? It feels like yesterday when we were celebrating his 1st birthday. We are having a b-day party this Saturday (one day after his real b-day). The 1st b-day party was sports theme, not like Aiden really cared. This year, we decided to do Disney Cars Movie theme since he LOVES (you can even call addictive) the show. He already has two Maters (One Mater talks and the other one spins) and one lightning McQueen (the red paint has faded since he's been holding it too much). I baked and decorated his b-day cake (sports cake) with some help. This year, I will do the same thing since I found it was quite fun thing to do. The party photos will come soon......

Happy Valentines Day
Aiden received a few valentines cards from his friends at daycare. He also made Daddy and Mommy a great valentines day gift with teacher's help. It was a framed picture of him with magnets. He also had some delicious candies too!

Health Update for Aiden
After taking two doses of Amox and tamiflu on Friday, finally Aiden was fever free for the weekend. Yay!!! His appetite is still not really good, but he does eat about half amount of food that he usually eats. He is drinking tons of fluid which is pretty good. He still has some wet and barking cough, but the cough is definitely better at night than last week. He can finally have some good sleep. His nose is still running quite a bit, but it is not really big deal compared to the scary fever he had for two days straight. He is back to daycare today on valentines day and I have sent some v-day cards with him to his teachers and classmates. I think he will be asked to be a mail man and put those cards to his classmates' mailbox. It would be fun for him. Here are some pictures I took on my cell phone while Aiden was observed in ER room and he was in peach color hospital gown. :P

Urgent care -- > ER
After a couple of days high fever, on Thursday, Aiden's fever still sky high. At one point, it was 105 in the ear. When I got home last night, he was lying in my Mom's arm and wouldn't even open his eyes. When he saw me, he only rolled his eyes a little bit and said "mama". So we took him to urgent care but waited for 2 hours to see the doctor because there were quite a few kids in front of us. When we got in, the doctor listened to his lung and heard noise on the left side and checked his oxygen level on the finger. He was only 93% so we were sent to ER. We got into the ER exam room right away and his oxygen level was back to 98% without treatment. We waited for another 1.5 hours to finally get doctor in around 11pm. And she also heard noise from left lung. Then we were sent to have x-ray. Aiden was absolutely terrified by big x-ray machine. After about 20 minutes fighting, they finally got some clear pictures. Then we waited for another half hour and get the results. His lung looked clear! But doctor in ER still treated him for both bacterial pneumonia and virus pneumonia. So we were prescribed amox and tamiflu. We were finally discharged by hospital when his oxygen level was 96% (the lowest level for discharge). I picked up his med and got both in him at 2AM. This morning, he is still having fever around 101.2, but in much better spirit. He still isn't eating much but he has been drinking quite a bit fluid which will keep him dehydrated. We were told to watch him for labored breath (especially to watch whether his ribs get sucked in during breathing) and dehydration over the weekend. If any signs happen, then we will need to bring him back to ER. If not but still has fever on Monday, then bring him back to his PED office. We'll have to wait and see if both amox and tamiflu will do good for him. Keep finger crossed!!

Scary Fever
Aiden was perfectly fine when I dropped him off at daycare on Monday morning, but he started running nose along with a little coughing when I picked him up that evening. Then starting on Tuesday noon, he registered 103.9 temp in the ear, had motrin and the temp was manageable on Tuesday. Then yesterday, he started fever around noon but was around 102.9 and had motrin again. By around 4PM, his temp went up to 104.3 and he was really clingy. Another higher dose motrin as suggested by the pediatrician was given around 7:20 last night and half hour later, the temp was 104.4. I got really scared and called the oncall doctor and was told to alternate between 100mg motrin and 160 mg tylenol. Around midnight, he woke up by coughing and wanted water. I checked his temp, it was 102.2 again and I gave him tylenol. Then he woke up around 4:20 this morning crying. I took him to the big bed with me and checked the temp again and it registered 100.9. But he was really breathing heavily due to all the congestion. Then he woke up again around 6am and checked the temp, it was around 102, Motrin was given again and finally his temp went down to 99.7. Will have to see how he does today. I was told to bring him back in if he still has fever on Friday which follows 3 days rule. But surely the high temp scares me!! What a restless night for Aiden and me!!!

"Good Way" to start February
We have a pretty "good" start of February. Since the 1st day, we got big windy ice storm and the road was packed with 1" ice, and on top that, we got another 6 inches snow. Today the sun finally come out but it is freezing cold. It was -3 degree with wind chill. Aiden's daycare was closed for the last two days due to bad weather. But he did get out of the house on Wednesday after the snow finally stopped, it was so icy and he kept falling onto ground while walking. He was definitely curious about why he can't walk without falling. :))

"Cat" in the Hat
I bought two Dr. Seuss's t-shirts for Aiden. They were soooo cheap (paid 69 cents each) and sooooo cute. One has the body of cat in the hat reading book, so Aiden's head was the cat head and the other has the body of grinch. Aiden wore the one with cat in the hat to daycare this week and got a lot of compliments. Grinch one is still too big (3T) for him right now.

One Day at National Air Force Museum
Today is MLK day and I am off work. I took Aiden to Dayton, Ohio to visit National Air Force Museum with Grandparents Li. Matt and I used to live in Dayton for a few years before we move to Indy. This is first time for Aiden, Grans and Grams to visit the national biggest air force museum. Aiden is always excited to see the airplane in the sky when we walk, but he was definitely surprised to see so many airplanes, fighter planes, helicopters and rockets on the ground. He really enjoyed playing with the model airplane on the string and looking inside the airplane.
