"Cat" in the Hat

I bought two Dr. Seuss's t-shirts for Aiden. They were soooo cheap (paid 69 cents each) and sooooo cute. One has the body of cat in the hat reading book, so Aiden's head was the cat head and the other has the body of grinch. Aiden wore the one with cat in the hat to daycare this week and got a lot of compliments. Grinch one is still too big (3T) for him right now.

Fun Day at Children's Museum

We went to Children's Museum early this morning. It was quite nice for Aiden when there weren't too many people since he didn't have to wait for his turn to play or have to share the toys. :P

1. Roar, Roar, Dinosaur

2. Crocodile hunter

3. Measuring fruits and veggies

4. Race car driver

Car Show

Aiden's most favoriate toy is cars, all kinds of cars. He has a whole box of cars and he likes to line them up and shows off all his property. Maybe someday he will open his own garage. :))

One Day at National Air Force Museum

Today is MLK day and I am off work. I took Aiden to Dayton, Ohio to visit National Air Force Museum with Grandparents Li. Matt and I used to live in Dayton for a few years before we move to Indy. This is first time for Aiden, Grans and Grams to visit the national biggest air force museum. Aiden is always excited to see the airplane in the sky when we walk, but he was definitely surprised to see so many airplanes, fighter planes, helicopters and rockets on the ground. He really enjoyed playing with the model airplane on the string and looking inside the airplane.

One world, one sky

We took Aiden to Children Museum yesterday and this was actually our first time to visit there during the day instead of evenings. We finally caught the show in the planetarium theater called "One world, one sky". The show is hosted by Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu (a pig character who lives in China). They introduce the Sun, Moon, and stars and learn about the Big Dipper and the North Star. They take an imaginary trip to the Moon where they learn that the Moon is a very different place from the Earth. When Elmo and Hu Hu Zhu use their imaginations to return to Earth, they celebrate the idea that even though they live in two different countries, they still share the same sky. The show also teaches about shapes and Chinese. Aiden did fairly well during the half an hour show. He did get a little scared while the night time came and the theater was really dark. But he showed curiosity when Elmo and big bird showed up in the sky. Daddy said if Aiden does well with this show, maybe he can take him to watch "Car II" since Aiden loves the first "Car" cartoon at home. But Mommy still thinks Aiden is too young for that since the theater could be really loud and dark. We shall see.

Piano Man

This is the video that Aiden was "playing" piano in Lakeland children museum while we were in Florida. He even flipped the music notes book while playing. He really liked the piano maybe I have a future piano man??

Shovel Snow

We just had another inch snow. Grandpa Li went out to shovel the driveway since Dad is out of town on business trip. Aiden "helped" with shoveling using his little shovel and bucket that Grandparents Zeigler got him for his sand play while we were in Florida.

1. Picking up the snow with little shovel

2. Transporting the snow to the bucket

3. Dumping the snow into bucket

Somersault

This video was taken about a month ago. Aiden came back from daycare and started doing somersault. He could do forward somersault halfway on the soft bed. Go, future gymnast!

New Year, New Skill and New Word

I can't believe it is 2011 already. In a little over two months, Aiden will be 2 years old. Where did time go?? Anyway, tonight I played the ball with Aiden after dinner. I threw the ball to him and he caught it without bouncing. Yay! Then I threw the ball again and said "catch". Aiden said "catch" pretty clearly but he missed the ball. We also did some great exercise - spin, stomp, jump, rub belly and pat the head. It was a great night.

A wonderful day at Magic Kingdom Disney World

We took Aiden to Magic Kingdom Disney World. Even though Aiden was not allowed on many rides due to height limit, we still did quite a few things: peoplesaver (outdoor slow moving train ride), Mickey's railroad, Carousel of Progress, Liberty Boat, Tom Sawyer Island, Mickey magic 3-D movie show, Swiss family tree house, country bear jamboree and it's a small world. He really enjoyed the train ride and Tom Sawyer Island. we did barrel bridge 4 times on Tom Sawyer Island. He got scared by part of 3D show since it was really loud and he didn't like the wind and water blow right at his face during the show. For the country bear show he was more intrigued by the three audiences on the wall (automated deer, moose and buffalo)than the singing bears. Aiden is usually afraid of lifesize character but he was very fascinated by pinocchio. He approached him very cautiously but he did end up giving him a high 5. Good job! We were in the magic kingdom from 9am until 6pm. Aiden only took about 30 minutes nap. By the time we left, he was exhausted but he still wouldn't blink his eyes. I guess he didn't want to miss any fun time in the park. We will definately go back to Disney world to visit more parks when Aiden is olderand appreciates the parks more.

Lakeland Children Museum

While we were in Florida, the weather got really cold and it was only 49F for high one day. We decided to take Aiden to Lakeland Children museum so that he can play indoors. It is a small museum and very nicely set up. Aiden enjoyed the little grocery store and slide in the museum.

Christmas Day

On Christmas morning, Aiden opened his gifts and he got a car and toy story 3 camera from Grandparents Zeigler. Then we went to play mini golf inside the community. Aiden loved running around the mini golf course and he would pick up the ball every time after we hit the ball. Once a while he sat on the holes so that nobody can get the ball in. In the afternoon, we went to Bok Tower Garden and spent a very relaxing and peaceful afternoon.

Christmas Eve Day at Clearwater beach

After 16.5 hours drive, we all made it to Florida safe and sound. Aiden did very well in the long ride. After checking the 10-day forecast, we decided to go to Clearwater beach on Christmas Eve day since it was the warmest day (68F high) during our stay. The beach has very nice white sand and it wasn't crowded since the water was really cold. This is Aiden's first time to see the ocean. At the beginning he wasn't really sure what to expect and a little scared of waves. But after we showed him how to use the shovel to pick up the sand and drop it in the bucket, he really enjoyed that. It didn't take him long to get used to the waves and he loved walking into the COLD water and chasing the seagulls. We wish the weather and water could be warmer, but Aiden still enjoyed himself very much on the beach.

Heading to Florida for Christmas

We are heading to Winterhaven, Florida early tomorrow morning to meet grandparents Zeigler for Christmas. We are very excited for this vacation since this will be the first time for a family vacation with Aiden and it is also Aiden's first time to ride in the car for a LONG time. We are planning to take Aiden to clearwater beach (again Aiden's first time to see ocean and real sand beach) and possibly Disney world. We will have a lot of fun even though the temperature will be only in the mid 50s and possibly lower 60s for high, but still better than 20s or teens with inches of snow!

Our First Christmas Party

We had our first family Christmas party today with Jason, Kim, Audrey and Grant since we will spend Aiden's 2nd Christmas in Florida with Grandparents Zeigler. The kids had a lot of fun with their gifts. Aiden still doesn't quite get the idea of ripping off the wrapping paper to see what is inside. But once we helped him open his gift and he really liked them. He got many hot wheels, bus, cement mixer truck from us and got a very neat basket ball hoop from Uncle Jason and Aunt Kim. He did really well and kept putting the ball in the hoop. He will get plenty of exercise inside this winter.

The night before the gifts got opened

Bus and cement mixer truck from Mom and Dad

Disney car table mat, bowl and plate from Jason, Kim, Grant and Audrey

Grant: I got indoor basketball hoop and remote control helicopter and a Christmas HAT?
Aiden: I got a bus!

Mom, hurry up and open it for more cars!
