Who is Going to School

We got out of the house pretty early on the second day of Aiden's new school. So we decided to walk Aiden to the school bus stop in the neighborhood. Mia was also very excited for a morning walk carrying her daycare backpack. This is also her first week at preschool. She is having some rough time to adjust from in home setting to preschool. Aiden was also happy to run to the bus stop and loved to play the first grader Liam in our neighborhood while waiting for bus.

First Homework

Aiden brought home a yellow folder that is for teacher and parent communication. One side is "return to school" which had daily homework. One side is "keep at home" which had some work he did at school. We need to do initial every night on the calendar in the folder. He did fine job on his first day homework. Mommy helped about 3 words on the reading part. He came out the answer himself but needed help from mommy for spelling.

We received a picture from Aiden's teacher on the first day. Kids gave two thumbs up in the picture. It took mommy a while to find Aiden among 25 kids. He looked very happy. P.S. Aiden is the one standing next to number 1 on the rug.

First Day of Kindergartener

It is hard to believe that my little boy starts kindergarten today. He has been excited to go to K since we took tour to school as he saw that he could go to cafeteria and eat, play in the gym, and play computer in the media room. All four of us came to the bus stop in the neighborhood this morning and waited for the bus together. We watched our little boy carrying his new backpack and getting on the school bus. Wish you have a great first day at kindergarten, my little boy!!!

First Pony Ride at State Fair

We go to Indiana state fair almost every year. But this year the weather is a lot cooler. Kids did quite a few rides and activities. Mia also had her first pony ride which we think she liked it. Aiden and Mommy did go cart and mini racing track together. Too bad Mia couldn't join us as the minimum height is 42". The kids did farm activities together which they needed to follow chicken feet, pick up corn, soy beans, vegetables, fruits and then sent soy bean back for biofuel, fed the pigs with corn, milked the cow, sold the veggie and fruits back to farmer market, got "money" and then got a granola bar for return. They just enjoyed it.

Coloring, Drawing and Puzzle

Some Aiden's favorite activities are art work including coloring and drawing, playing puzzles. Usually these can keep him busy all by himself for a few good hours. That is pretty descent for a high energy boy. He has improved quite a bit in coloring.

Out for Activities over the Weekend

We had a fairly busy weekend. Soccer on Saturday morning and Mia did really good job. Mommy tried to step out and let her follow the coach on her own. She was pretty good at listening. After Mia's noon nap, we went to pool and splash park since it was muggy. Then Sunday, we spent whole afternoon in Children's museum and we went through all 4 stories. Aiden wished he could stay in the museum.
