ZooBoo 2013

Indy zoo has zoo boo every year and the weather was quite nice for trick or treat in zoo. Aiden is a red power ranger this year. Mia was supposed to be a Cinderella but when we put it on Saturday for neighborhood Halloween party she didn't like the dress at all and crying over the dress. To avoid chaos in zoo we let her go with no costume. Kids loved all the decors in zoo such as pirate, cemetery, monster and ghosts etc. they also liked to put their head into animal holes and let Mommy take a picture.

Halloween Party in the Neighborhood

One of our nice neighbor has been hosting the Halloween party for the last three years. We went to our first one last year and Aiden really enjoyed it. And we went again this Saturday even though it was chilly. Aiden was showing off his cool power ranger outfit to the neighbors But Mia didn't like her Cinderella dress at all and we were only able snapped some picture at home. Aiden was one of the younger one in trick or treat group but that didn't stop him being one of the first ones to get candy. He ran and walked nearly 2 miles to trick or treat in every house that had front porch light on. He told us that he had a lot of fun. Mia also did trick or treat at one house and she got a lollipop and that was the end of it as she was too busy to eat it.

St. Louis Arch

On the 3rd day of our St. Louis trip, we went to visit the arch. We couldn't go all the way up to the top of arch as it was considered national park and all national parks were closed due to government shut down. But kids did like to play the sand by the Mississippi river bank.

St. Louis Zoo

After the city museum, we headed to the famous zoo in St. Louis. It has free admission and you can't beat that even though you do need to pay for some attractions such as train ride. We only had about an hour to spend in the zoo. But kids loved to see gorilla, chimpanzee and orangutan that we don't have in Indy zoo. And of course, we had to do the train ride and it was a very nice train ride that lasted about 20 minutes and went through the whole zoo and we saw elephants, flamingos during train ride.

St. Louis City Museum

Before we took the trip, Mommy discovered a very cool city museum in downtown St. Louis on the internet. The museum is inside the building that was formerly home to the international shoe factory. Then in 1995, it was converted to a giant funhouse for young and older people out of unique, reclaimed objects found within city and the collection includes cranes, old bridges, vintage trains, fish tank full of turtles etc. All these are accessible via stairs, elevator, tunnel or slide. Initially Aiden wasn't quite sure about the place, as it is an OLD and strange place he has never seen. But then once he saw kids crawling through tunnels and doing the slides, he immediately jumped in and loved everything in the museum. Most of our family are afraid of heights, but not Aiden. There was a big playground on the roof top of 11th floor building. He climbed all the way on the top and walked through the tunnels that you can see through everything that are nearly 12th floor high underneath. He did everything like he was just walking on the ground. Mia was a little too young for most of the stuff there, but she did like to slide with mommy and checked out the turtles and fish.
