Mia's 1-year Check Up

Mia just had her one year check up today. She weighs 22lbs 4oz (82%), measures 31.5 inches (99%). She is 1 inch taller and 2lbs heavier than Aiden at 1-year old. She started taking a couple of steps on her own a week before she turned one and after about two weeks practice, she can walk across the room. She grows really well overall during her first year and she is still an angel when it comes to eat and sleep. She does start showing some toddler emotion signs and start complaining when Aiden gets to her way which she didn't do before.  

Mia's Second 1-year B-day Party

Mia turned 1 yesterday and today is Thanksgiving so Mommy and Daddy threw her a little b-day party for her. Mommy's friends Tiffany and her husband and son came over for her b-day and Thanksgiving lunch. Mommy cooked some turkey breast roll, stuffing, mashed potato and corn. Her 1st b-day theme is Minnie mouse. Mommy, Aiden and Mia went to store this morning to pick up minnie mouse plate, minnie balloon and minnie & mickey b-day cake. And guess what, Mia destroyed her piece of cake again! Mia got a tea party set and little talking house from mommy and daddy. The kids had a lot of fun playing tea set. Aiden served a few cups of tea as he thought it was quite interesting that teapot makes pouring water sound when he tried to pour the tea.

Mia is One Year Old

Mommy and Daddy are having "hard" time to believe that our little girl turned one today. It felt like yesterday when we brought her home from hospital. For the past year, Mia has been a super angel baby. She slept through night since a little over 4 months old and she always gets herself to sleep and go back to sleep at night since 4 months old. She eats WELL, I mean really well. So far we haven't found anything she doesn't like. She can say dada and mama and also understand a few chinese words such as dudu (belly) as she will pat her belly if you say dudu, zaijian (byebye). She also plays peek-a-boo during diaper change with mommy and daddy. She also took a few steps one week before she turned 1 and right now, she can walk by herself for about 3 to 4 feet if she focuses. She starts to get more needy as she wants more attention now from everybody. She also starts to complain if big bro Aiden takes her toys away. But she really loves her big bro. She gave Aiden a hug and put her face on his back while taking bath together the other night. Happy B-day little girl!!

Mia's Pre-Birthday Party

Grandpa and Grandma Zeigler are leaving for Florida this weekend. So they decided to have a b-day party in their house for Mia and Grant as their b-days are only 3 days apart. Mia received some new clothes, new toys and Aiden helped her open the box and also received a car from grandpa and grandma and candies from uncle Jason and aunt Kim. So he was quite happy about that. It was a lot of fun to see Mia destroy her cupcake and lil girl showed no mercy to the cupcake. Aiden only touched and had one bite of his 1st b-day cupcake and then didn't want anything to do with it.

House Exterior Rennovation

We did some major exterior rennovation for the house after we did a lot of painting inside. We changed the wood siding to fiber cement siding and got all new windows. The color we chose is evening blue and some people say gray, some say blue. But new color with white trims and white windows make the house look crisp from the outside. We also removed the two big trees that were planted too close to the house and transplanted two dwarf Japanese maples in front of the house.The next major rennovation will be kitchen and bathrooms.
