6-month Old Mia

Mia just had her 6-month check up. She measures 28 inches (99%) and weighs 19lbs (91%). A BIG GIRL! She is currently in 6-9 month stretchy clothes. The regular 6-9 month is a little short on her. She beat Aiden on the weight at 6-month but same on the height. Aiden was 17lbs 10oz.

Physical development:
Mia started sitting without support around 5-month old and but could only last 1 minute or so. But at 6-month, she can sit all by herself for a good 5-10 minutes. She only rolled over once after her first rolling at 3 months old and hasn't really showed more interest in rolling since then. She also starts grabbing toys around her and pass it from one hand to the other once a while. Her most favorite things to reach out are cell phones, laptop and Daddy's iphone. Sigh...

Sleep and eat:
She is down to 4 bottles a day and takes about 18-19oz/day. She also takes two solids per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. She loves solid food and pretty much all the first stage baby food including baby yogurt. The only thing she isn't quite sure about is avocado for now. She sleeps around 14 hours per day. 10-11 hours straight at night and 3 naps during the day.

Social development:
She started stranger anxiety around 5.5 months but not to all strangers. She started to get attached to Daddy as she doesn't see him as much. She even cries sometimes when Daddy walks away. She loves her big brother and babbles at him when he is close to her. She also enjoys watching Aiden play.

Overall, her 6-month check up went great and she is developing on track and most of all, she is a very low maintenance baby as she eats fine and sleeps great and is happy almost all the time.

6-month portrait

Mia had her 6-month portrait done today as tomorrow she turns 6-month old. Time flies. She started stranger anxiety about half month ago so we were a little concerned that she might not do well with photo shoot. But she did very good job with flash and strange photographer. She only cried towards the end when we did family photos with grandparents as she was tired and rubbing her eyes. We even got some pictures of her sweet smile. Aiden also cooperated at the beginning while taking photos with Mia. This time we did better color coordination between two kiddos than we did at 3-month portrait of Mia.

Evening Fun

The weather has been great during the past week. We have been walking around the neighborhood after dinner every night. Mia didn't really like the stroller, but when we tried to put her in the car buggy, she absolutely LOVES it. She sat in the buggy the whole time and checked out the surroundings. Aiden also had some fun riding his scooter.
Just finished my buggy ride

Be careful, big bro

Mia's Fashion Show

Mia has quite a few new and hand-down dresses. Grandma Li has been dressing her with different dresses and grandpa Li has been busy taking her picture with pretty dresses.

Mommy's little rabit

Mia's Chinese horoscope is a rabbit and mommy got a cute rabbit onesie from garage sale. She looks really cute in the outfit.

Kiddos

Mia likes to stare at Aiden and sometimes she just lets out big smile while watching him. Aiden likes give her hugs and kisses too especially in the morning when he wakes up. He treats her as she is his little puppy. At soccer practice, when the coach asked him what is his favorite animal one time, he answered "my baby sister". LOL

Bro, did you eat something without me?

Bro, you look funny

Sis, I am really tired

Little Lady Mia

Mommy has been really enjoying dressing Mia as it is more fun to dress a girl than a boy. It is another warm day today. So grandparents Li dressed her in a couple of outfits and took some pictures when she sat nicely on the couch.

Hello Mickey

oh-oh, he fell down

Jumperoo Fun

Aiden started to jump in jumperoo around 4.5 months old and he jumped pretty hard in it. But Mia seemed to be very content in exersaucer. But when we tried jumperoo on her, she loved it. Initially she couldn't jump with both feet up, she was more like stepping. But it only took her a couple of times in jumperoo to figure out how to jump. Now she can spend a good 30 minutes to 1 hour in the jumperoo.

Mia Sitting

We always know that Mia is a big and strong baby. She has good head control and now at a little over 5 months old, she can sit without any support for about 5 minutes if she really focuses. Aiden could sit about 2 minutes around the same age per his video.  But we still put a poppy pillow around her bottom so that she doesn't hit her head on the floor if she falls. She seems to really enjoy sitting as well as she has a better view of surroundings.
