Indy 500 Hall of Fame Museum

Daddy and Aiden have been watching some car race shows on the computer. So Daddy decides to take Aiden to Indy 500 museum. We took a bus tour on the race track which Aiden likes the most as this is his first time to ride on the bus. He quickly scanned through the cars but we had to try really hard to keep him off the cars.

Mia's 4-month check up

Mia had her 4-month check up today. She weighs 16lbs 15oz (92%), measures 26.5 inches (99%) and 41.2cm (68%) for head circumference. Here is Aiden's stats for 4-month: 16lbs 13oz, 26.5 inches and 41.5cm. So they have almost identical stats at 4 month and they also had almost same stats at 2 month check up. She got two shots and one oral vaccine today. One less shot than 2 months which is HepB series. She was pretty much crying and screaming the whole time except when pediatrician tried to listen to her heart.

4-month Mia

Mia turned 4-month old today. She is a big cute chubby girl. She laughed out loud the other night when I teased her with ballons. She loves to babble with us and watch silly big brother Aiden to play. She also likes to sit on Grandma Li's lap and stares at Mommy and wouldn't even turn her head until Mommy gives her a smile. Then she will smile and turn her head away from Mommy. She is down to 4-5 feedings per day now and takes about 21-23 oz milk per day. Her longest sleep time at night is about 8 hours. She usually can put herself to sleep at night after bottle while put down drowsy by making noise like cat. She can sit without support for 10 seconds but that only happened one time. She hasn't really attempted to roll over from tummy to back recently after the first success attempt about a month ago. Her 4-month check up will be tomorrow and stats will be updated.

Water Gun Fun in HOT Spring

The weather of this Spring has been crazy. We have temperature of 80s for three days in a row now. Aiden took his new water gun out tonight after dinner and squirted the water all over the backyard. Saves Mommy and Daddy some work for watering the flowers.

Aiden's 3-year check up stats

Aiden had his three year check up on Thursday. He measured at 37 inches and 28.4 lbs. His BMI is only in 8%, very skinny. He grew 2.5 inches and gained 3 pounds since 2-year check up. His blood pressure is 88/70. He does eat quite a bit food compared to other kids at daycare, but he moves ALL the time which keeps him thin. The pediatrician is fine with his development and growth.

Aiden's birthday party

Aiden finally got his birthday party. He has been waiting for his birthday for quite a while after seeing other kids at daycare had their b-days. He was very excited about presents, birthday cake and playing at snapperz with David and Leo. This year, his birthday theme is Thomas and birthday cake is also Thomas as he is a big fun of Thomas. He also got to wear his new Thomas T-shirt on his birthday matching the birthday theme. He even skipped nap today which I think he really liked it. And he was so anxious to start the party but Mommy told him that he would need to wait until everybody came. So he kept checking the door and asking "anybody comes yet?". Finally, it was time for party to start. He sang the whole "Happy Birthday" song and blew off the candle on his own. Mommy told him to make a wish but we don't think he got it as he only made a fake smile. Aiden got a lot of gifts. More trains and tracks from Mommy and Daddy, a letter and shape learning pad from lil sister Mia, Cars 2 Lego and "I spy" game from Grandparents Li, soccer ball and goal from Grandparents Zeigler, another set of Lego from Leo and a big bedtime story book from David. He ripped all the wrapping paper on his own this time without anybody's help. After the party, we went to snapperz for play and again he had so much fun there with David and Leo especially with David who is his all time favorite playmate.

Aiden Turns Big Three

Aiden turns big three today. He is very excited about his b-day now as he can get b-day cake and more importantly new TOYS. Aiden had some important achievement during his 3rd year.

1. Potty training: he is completely trained for poop a little after 2.5 years old. He tells us every time when he needs to poop. It does come with small rewards (a few M&M) afterwards. But he has come to a long way since the beginning of potty training. He was screaming and scared for poop in the potty at the beginning. For the pee part, he still wets his pants once a while if he is playing too hard and gets distracted. He doesn't tell us every time he needs to go pee as he does for poop. But as long as we take him every 1.5 to 2 hours, he stays dry throughout the day. At daycare, he does really well for potty. Teacher said he knows exactly what to do at potty time. He would pull down his pants and underwear, lift the lid, lean forward, pee,and flush the toilet, then pull up his pants and wash his hands all by himself.

2. Following instructions: we started soccer class on Saturday when he is 2 years and 3 months old. At the beginning, he didn't listen to the coach's instructions and was just doing his own little things. But now, he follows the instruction most of the time with some reminding from Dad. Starting this spring, he will be in the field on his own and we are curious to see how well he will do. The daycare teacher also sent a small note home saying he does well at music class now too as he enjoys singing songs (used to be shy to sing in the class), uses his listening ears to play the instrument to follow the music beat!

3. Color recognition: Aiden used to call every color either purple or blue for quite well. We were even concerned about color blindness. We talked to his pediatrician when we had Mia's one week check up at the end of November. He said if he is OK with identifying the colors by 3 years old. Then we started reading him colors, colors everywhere from Mickey mouse book collection. Guess what, now he can get quite a few colors right 3 months before his 3rd birthday including red, blue, green, yellow, white, black, purple, and orange. He still calls pink purple sometimes.

Happy Big 3rd Birthday - our big boy!

It is couch time again!

Aiden loves to take pictures with Mia on the couch. Here are some of their pictures taken a few days before Aiden's 3rd birthday and on his birthday. It is difficult to get both of them look at the camera at the same time.

Exersaucer Fun

We never got Aiden exersaucer when he was a baby as he liked the jumperoo a lot. On the other hand, Mia is less active than Aiden. We borrowed an exersaucer from a friend and Mia tried it and we think she really likes it. She actually turned the roller on her own to make the noise.
