First Time in the Pool

It was another hot summer day. We took Aiden to our friend's community pool since ours don't have baby pool. The water was quite warm and about Aiden's waist line deep. He could get in and out of the pool all by himself. It was nice. This was Aiden's first time in the pool and he did really well. He liked to sit on the edge and splash the water with his feet. He liked to play the ball in the water. He also figured out how to use the noodle. He put both arms over the noodle and laid on it. He couldn't get his feet off the pool bottom but he was laying on the noodle and walked with his feet instead of floating. With some help from Daddy, he was floating and liked it. Mom was a little surprised that he didn't show any fear in the pool for the first time. Maybe he can start his swimming class in the fall or winter.

New Exhibit in Children's Museum

It has been hot and muggy outside. Instead of playing outside, we went to Children's museum on Sunday morning to have fun and stay cool. There are some new exhibits in museum such as Terra Cotta Warriors, Egyptian mummy and discovered cannon under the sea. Aiden likes to climb the hills made of cannon, play the mummy puzzle and he also has his first time real carousel ride. The first time he rode carousel, he was a little scared so we had to sit on the bench on the carousel. This time he sat on the horse. Yay!

New Painting Mat

We found a nice aqua painting mat in Walmart for Aiden. All we need to do is to fill the pen with water then he can write on the mat and it will dry out after a little while. No mess, no mark. It also has 26 letters on the edge and good for Aiden to learn his letters as well. Great investment on toys.

Having fun painting

Bed Transition

We had Aiden's room painted blue about 2 months ago and bought him the car bed around the same time. But then we got busy on the weekend and didn't have chance to get him twin size mattress. This weekend, we finally got the mattress and Cars bedding. Aiden slept in his new twin size bed on Sunday night. The transition from crib to big kid bed wasn't too difficult. First he kept saying "my bed" when I got him onto his new bed so I guess he wanted his crib. Then I tucked him in and started reading book. He stopped saying "my bed". After the book, I walked out and about 5 minutes later, he came out and told me "I felt down". It turned out he just got off his bed and tried to get his Mater pillow off the floor. Then second time I heard there were banging noise, so I walked in and he was trying to reach his cars that fell into the gap between mattress and bed frame. Then he did cry it out a little (more like whining) and fell asleep. Tonight was second night and again he cried it out twice but only lasted about a couple of minutes every time. Then quieted down and fell asleep. He did cry it out from time to time when he slept in the crib before quiet down. So I think he is adopting his new big kid bed fairly well.

Bouncy House

There was kid carnivals in Cicero where the train destination is. This is Aiden's second time to play in bouncy house. The first time was last July at daycare party. There were quite a bit older kids inside that time and he was a little intimated and didn't know what to do. But this time, he loved to bounce inside, climb high and then slide down.

Firework Train Ride

We missed Father's day train ride due to mechanical problems back in June. We found out the Indiana Transportation Museum also has firework train ride from Noblesville Forest Park to Cicero Community Park. It is about 5 miles each way. There was a Fourth July celebration in Cicero Community Park where they have kids carnival including bouncy house, petting zoo and pony ride. So we took Aiden on Sunday for his first real train ride and some kids fun. Aiden was very excited to see the train and couldn't wait to get on it. Once he got on, he found a seat and sat down like a big boy waiting for the ride. He also said "all aboard chu chu train". He learned that from "Choo-choo soul". When the train started moving, his eyes were all over the places, inside and outside the train. He was very excited to see houses, cars and trucks outside the train windows.

Sprinkler Fun

It has been warm and muggy for the last few days. So instead of evening walk after dinner, we have Aiden play with sprinkler water to cool him down while outside. He has a lot of fun running into the water and get soaking wet. He also likes to collect the water with his Cars bucket.

1. Collect water into bucket.

2. play ball with Daddy

3. Run away from water
